SPRAT LEVEL-2 TRAINING
Course Overview:
The SPRAT Level 2 course is available for all level 1 SPRAT technicians with pre-requisites to advance or current Level 2 technicians that need to renew with almost expiring level 2 certification. The course is mainly practical with the emphasis being placed on building the candidate’s confidence and competence in the discipline. Independent SPRAT Evaluation is carried out on day 6. Successful candidates receive a new certificate and ID card. Certificate is valid for three years. The course is delivered over a Five-day period, excluding assessment. There will be an online test to evaluate candidate’s knowledge.

Course Content:
- Proficiency in all Level 1 techniques
- Enhanced rigging techniques
- Retrievable rope systems
- Rescues from manoeuvres – aid climb, deviation, rebelay, rope transfer
- Hauling and lowering casualties
- Level 2 theory
- Equipment selection, inspection, care and maintenance
Prerequisites:
- Physically fit
- Be able to read and write English
- Minimum 6 months experience and 500 working hours logged on level 1
- If revalidating – fully completed and signed SPRAT logbook to be presented to the trainer on the first morning of training
Event Details:
- Training is delivered over five-day period.
- Candidates will be assessed by an independent SPRAT Evaluator after they complete the course.
- Lunch and snacks will be provided by EDGE Rope during course.
